ABOUT ME

Read bellow about my education and

work experience/career...

Having an analytical and scientific mind-set, I studied at a technical school and obtained a degree in engineering/computer graphic/CNC machines programming. Following which, my first employment was in Siemens Company, where I worked as Technical Standards Manager.

After that, I was invited to work as a volunteer in a branch of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society in Prague. I was trained to work in the Translation Department and recording studio. Together with my team of co-workers I was translating huge variety of material (books, magazines, tracts, videos, website content) and partially did also editing work. I worked as a volunteer about 7 years.

Over the last almost 10 years, I have worked mainly as a free-lance translator (from English to Czech). That offers me meassure of flexibility, while gaining deeper linguistic skills, and acquiring general knowledge in many fields (medical, technical, marketing, journalistic, etc.) In this kind of work, I proved to myself that I am able to organize my duties, have adequate time management and self-control especially given the pressure of deadlines, last minute requests, and client satisfaction. I recently added copywriting to my portfolio. This allows me to alternate between the more technical and the more creative areas of my work.
